International Mamanet Catchball League
Who are we?
The Mamanet Woman Catchball League was established in 2005 in Israel as a unique and innovative model of sport-social movement, which combines sport, health, culture, and community. Today Mamanet plays in 20 countries around the globe with more than 30,000 followers.
The Mamanet is also unique because of the wide range of experiences that offers, which are not linked only to the target group of sportswomen over 30 years old or mums, but involve all the roles of the families and provides a huge platform to involve students of primary schools, promoting gender equality, involving kids, dads, grandparents, policymakers, politicians, public audience. Mothers can be leaders who take charge of their own life, their family, and the environment.
The uniqueness of the proposal is also grounded on the potential stable existence throughout the life circle of sportswomen and this potentiality provides sustainability because practicing Mamanet is not only practicing a sports practice but belonging to a community-based framework, that gives less chances to give up the sport practice.
How to play?
MAMANET / Catchball is an easy form of volleyball, so it can be learned easily and without any prior sport experience and can be played at any age. Therefore, the vision is kept inside the Mamanet League Motto, which is “every mother can”.

The Chief Scientist and the School of Public Health of the University of Haifa and Ariel
The university investigated the impact of Mamanet on social and health capital in the State of Israel
– a 3-year study. The findings are clear in relation to Mamanet’s contribution to Social and Health capital.
Columbia University and Ben Gurion Universities have conducted research on the Impact of Mamanet on the lives of women.
Two main conclusions from the survey:
a. Women feel that Mamanet offers them the sport experience they are looking for
b. Women feel that Mamanet gives them the will to improve communities and pushes them to propose community projects on a regional or national level
